How long does it take?

It depends many factors. For example your relatives may have used a different surname in the years gone by. This could be as there was no standardised spelling of names prior to the late 19th Century. However we always do a thorough check and if we have any questions on the names given to us we will call you back.

How much do you charge?

We offer a SET FEE for each client and it depends on their individual needs and the amount of work required. We do not quote an hourly rate as we do not think that is fair. However our rates are very competitive and we offer the personal service as we are a family run business. This reassures our clients that they will not have to worry about running up a hugh bill of thousands of pounds. However, if you were interested in just the names of for example a great great grandparent they this could be classed an a hourly rate.

What if I want to trace a missing person?

Sadly, we do not offer that service. You would need to be in contact with the police to trace a missing person

Why can I not do my own family tree?

You can of course create your own family tree, but we feel your time is better spent enjoying other things in life. If you come home after work the last thing you may want to do is try and start seeking out information for your family tree.

How many generations will you cover?

Again this depends on the clients needs. You may want to just find 3 x great grandparents while other people may want to go back further.

What information will I need to supply if I want to proceed

We will need to collect as much information from you as we can. We need to start with the subject. This could be yourself, your children, parents, spouse or in fact anyone. However we will need the following:-

• The clients full contact details - name, address and telephone number
• Details of the person - full name, dates, place of birth, marriage, death on whom the tree is going to be based
• Their siblings (brothers and sisters) names, dates, places of birth, marriage and death
• Their grandparents' names, dates, places of birth, marriage and death
• If known, their great grandparents' names, dates of birth, places of birth, marriage and death
• Parents'/Grandparents' siblings' names, dates, places of birth, marriage and death
• Any related documents which could be helpful

We will also send you our Client List Information form which you can use to collect all the information we need.

How do I pay?

We will require a deposit of 50% payable either via Pay Pal or via cheque. We then require the remaining amount at the completion of the family tree. On completion we will contact  you via letter with your presentation and our final invoice. If you had requested your family tree framed then it will be sent to you by our suppliers.
